Benefits of Biddy Basketball
Basketball is one of the most populary played sports in the United States and one of the most competitive which is why Biddy Basketball's main focus is providing appropriate skill level training to all its participants. To achieve this goal, Biddy Basketball focuses on three major components:
1. Providing fundamental tools that are appropriate to a child's age & physical abilities:
Biddy Basketball provides shorter goal heights, various ball sizes, and a shorter distance free throw line for our 7 & 8 and 9 & 10 year old athletes so that they can learn proper shooting techniques more effectively and ultimately improve their dribbling, passing, and catching skills at the same time. (Although young athletes of this age have the ability to throw the ball through a regulation 10 ft goal, it is usually only accomplished by exerting extreme effort, often at the expense of proper form.)

2. Providing seasonal league participation:
Becoming a franchise of Biddy Basketball means participating in a full season of competitive basketball for all young athletes interested in discovering and developing their skills. Instead of focusing soley on All-Star talent, the select few (as many other programs do), Biddy Basketball focuses on providing a service to all willing and able young athletes. Through seasonal league participation these athletes will gain and build confidence, teamwork, and leadership skills that they will carry with them on and off the court.
3. Providing special team participation:
Once the seasonal league has concluded Biddy offers an opportunity for their most advanced athletes to participate in a National or International Tournament. These tournaments offer young players the chance to meet and compete with other Biddy athletes from other leagues across the nation. Biddy has also had the good fortune of extending its participation to other countries with the intent purpose of expanding our international base in the future. These tournaments expose our young athletes to a variety of cultures and ethnicities that help them gain knowledge, skills, and competencies that are an integral and important part of a global multicultural society.
