Biko Paris

`Biko Paris

Biko Paris began playing Biddy Basketball at the age of six. Because he had such an undeniable talent, he was given an invitation to try out for the 8-Year-Old Biddy Basketball All-Star team that year. However, he was cut from that team. It was said that there were too many guards, and the fact that he was so young, he would get another chance - and that he did! A new motivated and dedicated young Biko has since taken the Biddy world by storm.

In 1997-98, he led the team to a championship title and was named an All American as well as Mr. Jr. Iddy Biddy. Biko continued in his endeavors, being awarded All American status as a 10 & 11-year-old, as well as assisting his team in winning the 11-year-old State Championship. He has been awarded All-American honors six (6) times. Biko Paris is not just an ordinarily good player, he is an exceptionally good one, characterized by his ability to come through in the clutch, and having the ability to make his teammates better players. In the 2002 Biddy Basketball season Biko, or as his teammates call him "Showtime", led his team by penetrating through the unimaginable. "Every team we played would have two, sometimes three people guarding Biko", head coach Kevin McCabb said. "In all my years of coaching, that was the first time I ever experienced something like that." Biko used his athletic ability and sharp basketball sense to maneuver through defenses to either create a shot for himself or one for his teammates. Biko Paris scored an astonishing average of 30 points per game and 12 rebounds. New Orleans captured the 2002 Biddy Basketball 12-Year-Old Championship and Biko received Biddy basketball's highest honor - Mr. Biddy. Biko was a member of three National and one State Championship teams in the six years he played Biddy Basketball. Biko Paris is said to be one of the best Biddy Basketball Players to ever play the game and will always be one to remember.

Biko played for John Curtis Christian school in River Ridge, La., before being forced to relocate after Hurricane Katrina. He played his final two years of high-school ball at the Cypress Community Christian School in Houston, Texas. He is now a member of the Boston College basketball team.
